Brand architecture

dcyphr.® is the umbrella brand. Underneath it are independent brands with their own presence – but the same colour system, the same typeface and the same attitude.

Umbrella brand

dcyphr.® GmbH

The AI-first company from Heidelberg. Claim: “The Frontier of Applied AI.” All other brands are senders belonging to dcyphr.® and are named together with the umbrella brand wherever the context allows.

Event brand

AICon

The AI conference series: AICon Heidelberg, AICon Industry Mannheim, AICon HR. Its own site aicon26.com, its own wordmark, the same lime.

Training brand

AI Slopes

The AI course series in Heidelberg. A skiing metaphor from the nursery slope to the black run – the only brand with imagery of its own.

Research & prototypes

dcyphr.® Labs

The home of physical AI and open prototypes such as bb1 – always with the suffix “Labs” and never as a sender on its own.

Products

B2B Radar, Leadcontroller & co.

Product brands are written in lower case and always introduced as “by dcyphr.®” until they are known in their own right.

Logos to download

The wordmarks in the approved variants. Please always use the file that matches the background – logos are not recoloured, not distorted and not rebuilt.

SVG and print versions as well as logos of the individual AICon formats are available on request at hello@dcyphr.io. Clear space: keep at least the height of the “d” free all around; minimum width on screen is 90 px.

Moving image & sound

The brand film, the intro animation, the ROBANTIS trailer and the sonic logo. All self-hosted, no third parties in the background – only the AICon aftermovie sits on YouTube and is loaded on click.

Video still: This is AICon This is AICon – Conference, Exhibition & NetworkingAICon Heidelberg aftermovie · opens YouTube in a new tab

Brand film

Seven lines, the brand in under two minutes. The film is not a rendered video but a single HTML file: the typography is the film, every line set in the brand cut. Sound starts on click, footage runs dimmed behind it.

Intro animation

The intro on the first visit to the home page: wordmark, claim and a loading bar, then the curtain releases the page. Runs once per session, can always be skipped, and stays off entirely under prefers-reduced-motion.

ROBANTIS trailer

Sixty seconds of animation about the Robotic & AI Center Heidelberg: idea, problem, market and solution. Hosted on the project’s own page.

How-to: Social CRM Leadcontroller

A screen recording walking through lead management in a few minutes. Usable without sound, available as a file to embed.

How-to: Social Content Builder

The agency-to-client approval pipeline as a recording – for pitches where the demo should not run live.

How-to: B2B Radar

Search, date planner and calendar subscription in one run-through. Works as a clip in talks about events.

Sonic branding

Two audio files, both produced in house and free to use in our own formats. Please do not alter them, do not remix them and do not pass them on as ringtones.

Sonic logo

Two seconds, the acoustic counterpart to the wordmark. It plays in the home page intro when sound is on, and closes out videos.

Film score

The bed underneath the brand film. Calm, with no melody in the foreground, so the lines stay readable.

The background footage of the brand film (shot1–shot4) is brand material and is too large for the repository, so it lives on the server only. Without it the film runs unchanged – the background simply stays black. A shareable version with font, music and sonic logo embedded is produced by python3 build/filmpaket.py.

Colours

Four colours carry the brand. Lime is the signal colour and is used sparingly: for exactly one statement per surface, never as a background for long copy.

Lime – signal colour#D8FF00Buttons, markers, highlights, the AICon stage
Ink – text and surfaces#131313Body copy, dark sections, logo on light
Lavender – secondary accent#B5BBF9Calm accents, notes, quote surfaces
Paper – background#F6F6F4Quiet surfaces between white sections

Typography

One typeface for everything: Roboto, self-hosted as a variable font. No Google Fonts call, no external requests – that is part of our privacy promise.

Headlines

Roboto 900, tracking -3%. Short, no full stop, statement before wordplay.

Body copy

Roboto 400 at 17 px, line height 1.6, around 70 characters per line at most.

Labels & eyebrows

Roboto 700, all caps, tracking +14%, 12 px – for categories and status.

Fallback

Where Roboto is unavailable: system-ui, Segoe UI, Arial. No serifs.

Spelling & names

The most common mistake in press coverage is the spelling of our own name. So, explicitly:

Please do
  • dcyphr.® – always lower case, with the dot and the ®, even at the start of a sentence
  • AICon – capital A, capital I, capital C, then lower case
  • Always name the format: AICon Heidelberg, AICon Industry Mannheim, AICon HR
  • AI Slopes – two words, both capitalised
  • dcyphr.® GmbH in imprints, contracts and legal texts
  • Pronounced like the English word “decipher”
Please don’t
  • Dcyphr, DCYPHR or dCyphr
  • dcyphr without the dot or without the ®
  • AiCon, AICON, AI-Con or AI Con
  • AI-Slopes or AISlopes
  • “the dcyphr” – we are a company, not a product
  • Rebuilding, recolouring, distorting or adding effects to the logo
Pronunciation
dəˈsīfər
like the English word “decipher”. Not “de-zyfer”, not “die-ceipher”.
Audio: pronunciation example, 2 seconds.

AI Slopes – short description

AI Slopes are the AI courses run by dcyphr.® in Heidelberg: two evenings, small groups, your own device. From the nursery slope for a first prompt to the black run for your own AI agents – for people who do not want AI explained to them but want to use it themselves. Courses are held in German.

How we write

Four rules that make a dcyphr.® text recognisable – in a post as much as in a proposal.

01

Show, don’t claim

Every statement gets an example, a number or a demo. Where we cannot show anything, we write nothing.

02

Short, concrete, no consultant-speak

Main clauses. No synergies, no lighthouse projects, no holistic solutions. One sentence, one statement.

03

Honest, even when it is awkward

What did not work is part of the story. We show prototypes with their flaws – that is part of the brand.

04

People first

We write about what technology changes for people, not about the technology itself.
